The Service

You Cannot Pour From an Empty Cup, and You Know It

Family caregivers absorb an enormous amount before asking for help. By the time most people call us about respite, they have not had an uninterrupted night in months, they have skipped their own medical appointments, and they feel guilty about wanting a break.

Respite care exists to interrupt that. It can be four hours on a Tuesday so you can get to your own doctor, a standing weekend block, or two full weeks so you can take the trip you keep postponing. We learn the routine in advance, in detail, so the person you care for experiences continuity rather than disruption.

What Is Included

What Respite Care Looks Like in Practice

A few hours a week

A standing block so you can work, exercise, see friends or simply sleep without listening for the hallway.

Weekend coverage

Saturday and Sunday support for families who manage weekdays but hit a wall on the weekend.

Vacation and travel

Multi-day and multi-week coverage, including overnights, so you can leave town without a crisis plan.

Emergency and short notice

Cover when you are sick, have your own procedure scheduled, or something simply goes wrong.

Full routine handover

We document the routine in advance so the caregiver arrives already knowing the sequence, the preferences and the triggers.

Overnight relief

Awake overnight care so a spouse who has not slept properly in months finally can.

FAQ

Respite Care for Families Questions

Short blocks are welcome and common. Many families start with one recurring afternoon a week. Call 321-758-2036 with the schedule you have in mind.

Yes, wherever scheduling allows. Consistency matters even more in respite because the whole point is that the person you care for is comfortable while you are away.

During the free assessment we document the routine in real detail: wake times, meals, medication timing, preferences, what upsets them and what settles them. For longer trips we often schedule a shorter overlap shift first so the handover is not cold.

Yes. We provide awake overnight care and live-in arrangements for multi-day trips, with a small consistent team rather than a nightly rotation.
